Can I walk in or do I need a booking?

We love walk ins! We have a multitude of tables put aside that we do not book. Feel confidence in knowing that we will always endeavour to find you a table any day of the week to accommodate your group size – there might just be a little wait. Please note we do not accept same day reservations.

How many people can I have in my booking?

Booking sizes are uncapped.

How long is my booking?

Average booking length is 2 hours. For larger groups that increases to 3 hours. However, you are welcome to stay longer, in the same spot if your tables aren’t booked or within another area of the venue.  

Can I cancel or edit my booking?

We’re sad to hear you can’t come. Should you need to cancel your booking, please give us a call on 9629 4811.

If you need to change your date, time or amount of people, please give us a call on 9629 4811. Adding or removing a couple of people shouldn’t be an issue, however if your numbers increase or decrease considerably, please let us know.

Is there a fee to reserve a space?

For regular bistro bookings there is no fee to reserve a space.

Can I bring a cake? Do you charge a fee? Can I store it in a fridge? Can you serve it?

Have your cake and eat it too! You are more than welcome to bring in a cake. We do not charge a cakeage fee and we are happy to store it in our fridge. Just ask our friendly staff to assist you. We ask that you label your cake with your name. While we do not cut and serve it, we are happy to provide you with knives and plates for you to serve.

Am I allowed to bring decorations for my table?

Small decorations such as balloons are allowed. We request that you do not bring confetti.

What is me&u? How do I use it?

Access our menu at the touch of your fingers without having to get up. me&u is an online mobile ordering app. Simply tap the beacon on your table or scan the QR code, order your food and drinks and we will bring it to your table. Easy as that. Otherwise you are still more than welcome to order at any of our many bars.

What are your bistro trading hours?

We are open Monday to Sunday 7 AM until late, every day except Christmas Day.

Kitchen Trading Hours:

  • Breakfast Mon – Sun: 7 AM – 10:30 AM
  • Bistro Sun – Thu: 11 AM – 9 PM
  • Bistro Fri – Sat: 11 AM – 10 PM
  • Pizzeria Mon – Sun: 11 AM – Late

What time do we start serving alcohol?

We are licensed to serve liquor from when we open until we close.

I don’t have a function booking, but I want to pay for everyone’s meals how do I do this?

There are a few options available to you, the first being that you can set up a Bar Tab for both food and drinks where people are able to order their own meals.

When is happy hour?

Schooner happy hour is from 4pm Monday to Thursday and 2pm on Friday. On Fridays we offer a cocktail teacher happy hour as well which runs from 3:30-5:30.

Do we have a kid’s playground?

We love our littlest visitors! Our kid’s playground is open every day from 11 AM until 10 PM. Best of all it is free to access.

What time do kids need to be out?

While we are very much family friendly, we ask that minors are accompanied by a responsible adult at all times and vacate the venue by 10 PM

What is the dress code?

The Fiddler Hotel welcomes all visitors to our venue; however please always observe the following dress standards, as we like to adhere to our family friendly values:

  • Neat, clean and tidy attire. Shirts, dress shorts or tailored pants are examples of appropriate items of attire.
  • No dirty, torn, or inappropriate clothing please.
  • No offensive clothing or offensive tattoos.
  • Footwear must be worn at all times due to safety reasons.
  • Friday and Saturday nights after 10 PM please refrain from wearing hats, thongs, hoodies, singlets, tracksuits, beanies, high visibility or dirty work wear as these are not appropriate neat and tidy items of attire.

Dress regulations are subject to change at management’s discretion and during seasonal changes. Management reserves the right to refuse entry for not adhering to dress standards and house policy.

Are pets allowed?

Unfortunately, we do not permit pets in our venue.

Where is Glasshouse / Greenway / Mercure entry?

After you turn into the driveway on Commercial Road, continue straight, following the signs for ‘Mercure Hotel’ and head towards the other side of the venue. The Greenway entrance is a stairway first on your left. The Glasshouse is opposite the entrance to the Mercure. Parking is available on that side of the venue.

Who can I talk to about my ban?

Seniors discount – how does it work? On what days can I use it?

We offer a 2 for 1 deal for all seniors Monday – Friday available for lunch and dinner. All you need to do is show a senior’s card upon redemption.

Do you guys do takeaway orders?

We are a dine-in only venue. We offer takeaway containers should you wish to take your meal home.

Is there entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights? (DJ or music)?

Yes, on Friday’s we have Live entertainment in our Irish Pub from 9pm and a DJ in the Beer Garden. On Saturday nights we have DJ’s in both the Lounge and Beer Garden starting at 9:30pm and live music in the Irish Pub from 9pm.

Do we show significant sporting events?

Yes, we do! For big events like Melbourne Cup, NRL State of Origin and Grand Finals we broadcast these on our TVs in the venue. For everything else, head over to our Sports Bar. You may ask to change the channel to view other sports. We do not show boxing or UFC.
